Black Moon Lodge
Welcome
Sisters and Brothers! Over the last twenty years, I have explored, studied,
and experienced traditional Shamanic methods of approaching the Dream Time
by the aboriginal peoples of North and South America, Australia, and the Celtic
people of Scotland and Ireland. My studies have led me to the conclusion that
all of life on Earth and our surrounding universe are connected. It is called
the Cosmic Consciousness, Dream Time, Nagual and Tonal, Upper-Middle-Lower
Worlds, and many other names. All of which reference that place where we meet
spirit.
I will approach this web site from a feminine standpoint as that is where my experiences are grounded. However, all you guys out there who are interested can gain from this site too. I know that a lot of information is excluded here - too much text to read - so I included a short bibliography and some links for you to explore on your own.
The Black Moon Lodge is a reference to the lodge set aside for Native American women who are experiencing their moon-time, or menstrual period. During this time a woman would go there to look within herself, work on her art, commune with other women, journey in the dreamtime, and rest, away from the distractions of family responsibilities and tribal life. The Thirteen Clan Mothers are a reference to the thirteen moons within the cycle of a year. Each moon relates to a feminine strength or wisdom, and is based upon the ancient oral tradition of the Native American people.
